KS5 In Years 12 and 13, classes are mixed as students from both St. Birinus and Didcot Girls’ School form Didcot Sixth Forms. The AQA A syllabus is taught. Students take the AS papers at the end of the 12th Year and some continue to the A2 course in Year 13. All students attend a residential field course in South Wales to develop practical skills and to introduce them to techniques to be used in their own ‘A’ Level projects. A Level - Kilvrough, South Wales The Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of the Gower peninsula offers an incredibly rich resource of environmental diversity contained within a small and relatively accessible geographical area. Its varied geology and recent glacial history has produced interesting geomorphological features and a variety of soils which have in turn affected and channelled the economic uses of the land by man the invader and coloniser. The interaction between man and this physical environment has produced a significant variety of habitat with diverse fauna and flora. This varied landscape give plenty for students to investigate.
